On the 4th Russian Cinema Week in Iceland
The 4th Russian Cinema Week took place in Iceland in period of September
8-22. The event is held by the Production Center Norfest, Northern
Traveling film Festival and Russian Embassy in the Republic of Iceland with
financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The Week was held in the Year of Russian Cinema in Russia 2016 and included
into the official program of the Year.
6 new Russian films and animation were in the program of the 4th Week:

2015, Director Alexander Kott, EVERYBODY’S GONE, 2013, Director Georgy
Paradjanov, TOO RED FOR A FOX, 2008, Alexandra Strelyanaya.PURE ART, 2016,
Renat Davletyarov, MOUNTAIN LIGHTS, 2016, Mikhail Kukushkin, Animated
Series Project MOUNTAIN OF GEMS (Tales of the peoples of Russia), 2008.
The honorary guest of Russian Film Days in 2016 was director Mikhail
By tradition films of the 4th Russian Cinema Week were screened not only
in Reykjavik (Bio Paradis cinema, University of Iceland and Society on
Russian-Icelandic cultural relations "MIR") but also around the country, in
towns H·fn, Seydisfjordur and Saudarkrokur.
Holding Russian Cinema Weeks in Iceland became a good tradition. Its program
takes into account interests of Icelandic viewers. All the events of the
Week found great public attention and emotional support.
